Question: What influenced your choice?

His transformation from drug abusing center right Republican To articulate spokes person for tolerance and his journey to center left democratic positions.

I do not know much about any of the candidates

He could come closest to beating the Rep. candidate.

Several interviews on radio and tv.

The best candidate and electability.

Unfortunately I don't know enough about any of the above to make an informed decision

Experience of the candidate

He's been a Dem for as long as I can tell; he's served our state for years and understands what FL needs - affordable housing, is one; and he's Val Demming's husband.

Don't want a candidate who has switched parties and not held office for 9 years. Demmings is only choice.

Although David used to be GOP, he has proven to me many times that he has switched his thinking to support Democratic values. I used to watch him all the time on MSNBC (now MS NOW), and was impressed by his candid responses and honesty. He will never be another Charlie Crist, who flip-flops depending on how the situation benefits him.

Able to pick up independents and win

Well know Republican Never Trumper- need moderate white guy to win election- not a year to vote for your true preference - let's face it, Florida is a racist state,

Ive been following David Jolly for YEARS! Actually heard him speak/present in person at the JU Law School when he was still a Republican Rep. Event was to show that people from opposite parties could still have civil conversations on issues in order to develop consensus on things! Wonderful! He lost re-election and became a commentator on MSNBC and was ALWAYS an "honest broker". I trust him. AND he's the only person Ive ever heard of - except Val Demings' brother.

Mr. Demings keen understanding of Florida Issues, especially pertaining to Black and Brown Floridians

Knows Florida & its politics better than most, his values & concerns align with mine, & he can speak to all sides rationally, w/ calmness, intelligence, & (I think) relatability.

Social media

He's a decent person

A friend plus he used to be a republican which may help the odds

Intelligent, speaks clearly, likeable

I like his positions, and I think he has more widespread name recognition across Florida.

Name recognition and seeing him on MSNBC (now MS NOW)

Demmings has been great leader in Orlando as mayor.

He has always been a Democrat unlike some of the others. And he has political experience

Have listened to several candidates and feel that Jolly is most qualified and aligned with my positions.

I am always suspicious of former Republicans who run as Dems, but former Repubs are some of DeSantis's fiercest critics. Jolly left the party in 2018, so he's not a recent convert, he has the endorsements of many Dem leaders, and may be best positioned to siphon off disaffected Republican voters.

He is a centrist and I feel will have the support of NPA’s.

I don’t know anything about any of them.

I would love a real democrat to win the primary but so far the only candidate I’ve heard about is Jolly who was a republican not too long ago

Still uncertain

The energy he has already put into campaigning. He’s all over my FB feed. Also, his appearances on MS NOW.

He has name recognition. He’s well spoken and has been on Rachel Maddow’s show.

His reputation and his views. He doesn’t have active investigations against him either

I don't know enough about any of these candidates to know who I would support

Only have name recognition for Jolly

Much observation over years

I know his name

He understands politics and is genuinely a good person

His political history in other starw positions

Not an Ex Republican. Has a campaign. I'm uninspired by all of these

Best chance to win in the general election

His prior history of elected offices.

He is an honest and forthcoming candidate. I was not in agreement with his past, but he has, over the years, evolved into a politician I can trust and respect. Hands down, David Jolly!

Even though he was a republican before he now understands how bad that can be at this point, and I see him fighting for all the rights that I believe in for all of us

I have heard him speak

David Jolly or Jerry Demings. No one has heard of the rest.

He is the only one I heard of

a) not familiar with other candidates b) Jolly appears to be moderate, willing to work with various people who are not fascists or fascist-adjacent, capable of appealing to independent voters, focus on non-ideological issues like the affordability crisis, property insurance, but will be hard to work with inevitable GOP led legislature

Shared Values

David Jolly appears to be a contender, BUT he is a Charlie Crist kind of candidate-switching parties at will to ensure he gets the nod.

Electibility

His views on issues.

Demmings has been true democrat & has experience as Mayor of Orange County. Jolly voted with Republicans to sue President Obama

Experience, campaign effectiveness, name recognition

His chance of winning

He is the most electable

It's a tough decision with Jerry Demings, but I think it was courageous of David Jolly to switch parties when the Republicans no longer represented his values
